DreamWorks, with producers Walter Parkes and Laurie McDonald, have optioned the film rights to Dr. Scott Cohen's upcoming book Eat, Sleep, Poop: A Common Sense Guide to Your Baby's First Year. Screenwriters Matt Allen and Caleb Wilson (Four Christmases) are set to adapt. The deal was brokered by Chris Fenton of H2F Entertainment, whose kids are patients of Dr. Cohen's.

Fountain Literary sells world rights for the debut novel How The Mistakes Were Made by Tyler McMahon to Hilary Rubin Teeman at St. Martin's Press. The novel chronicles the rise and fall of a Seattle supergroup in the early '90s, all told from the viewpoint of the tough female drummer, known notoriously to fans as "the girl who broke up the band." The book will be published in 2011.

Fountain Literary sells The Preemie Primer: A Doctor and Mother’s Guide to Prematurity by Dr. Jennifer Gunter to Da Capo Press (world rights). Gunter, an OB/GYN and mother of premature twins, relates every aspect of parenting the premature baby, from pregnancy to the NICU and beyond. Her experience, both medical and personal, makes her uniquely qualified to understanding the challenges facing new parents of preemies. The book will be published in spring 2010.
